Check it out YONDER. This took me way too long to put together so I might have missed some things. Let me know if you have questions, suggestions or reflections.
Happy Halloween, baby.

Comic for 10-28-2007

Sometimes I use numbers as a way to connect comics together. I did this a little bit in the Pope & Pig comic book and every now and then I do it in Load. For example:

In other news, I'm just about done with the Load Reader's Guide. If you have any questions about the comic or think something needs to be explained, let me know!

What's up now
Not sure if anyone's noticed but for the past few weeks my comic has been slightly angrier than usual. And there's at least one more in that same vein coming soon but I'm trying to get a handle on it. One problem of using funny comix as a means of personal expression is that the comix aren't always funny. Sometimes I just don't want to be funny. Though I always try to make up for it with the next week's comic. There's been a good deal of upheaval in my life since I got back from my vacation in August and it's really affected my art. Things are gradually calming down so pretty soon I should be back to providing the funny, honey.
I also tend to get bored with my work pretty easily. This is why Load has a rotating cast of characters, why I've switched from graytones to color, and why sometimes the strip is just an illustrated thought or poem. Speaking of which, I've begun work on a series of illustrated poems that are completely separate from Load. It's pretty good stuff that I'm really happy with. If you or anyone you know runs a publishing company that deals in poetry please send me a message, baby!

Comic for 10-07-2007

One reason I really like using color is that it makes strips with the same characters feel more cohesive. With colored skies and colored buildings I can suggest that conversations are continuing from strip to strip, or at least that they're happening around the same time every day. I'm planning to play with this more in the future.
